After almost ten years of working for a Civil Engineering/Surveying firm in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, J. Michael Brill, P.E., P.L.S. left it in 1987 and began J. Michael Brill & Associates, Inc. (JMB). JMB is a private Consulting Civil Engineering firm located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The firm specializes in land planning and site development including all aspects of work related to it.

J. Michael Brill's mission was to perform work for clients building long-term relationships by performing top quality work, meeting set schedules and performing the work at a cost that was (is) fair to both the client and JMB. Starting with clients such as High Associates, Ltd.; L.B. Smith, Inc.; Smith Land & Improvements Corporation; Hardee's Restaurants; and others, JMB began emerging as one of Central Pennsylvania's leading Land Planning and Site Engineering firms.

Now into its 20th year of business, JMB has performed work on over 1,800 projects for over 710 clients and has delivered more than $950 million dollars in construction work to site contractors. In 1996, J. Michael Brill was selected as one of Central Pennsylvania's "Forty-under-40" award winners for being an outstanding and dynamic business leader under the age of 40. He was also a finalist in both the Ernst & Young 1999 & 2000 Entrepreneur-of-the-Year in Central Pennsylvania. In both 1997 and 1998, JMB was selected by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal as one of the top 50 fastest growing companies in Central Pennsylvania. JMB was the only engineering firm on the list and was among corporate giants such as HARSCO, Hershey Foods, Rite Aid and others. Additionally, JMB has won many awards over the last sixteen (16) years with respect to plan quality for projects the firm has been involved.

The firm performs design work primarily on projects throughout the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, but also performs work on projects throughout other states including Maryland, Virginia & West Virginia. JMB will soon be performing work throughout areas of New York and New Jersey as one of our top ten clients, Giant Food Stores, Inc., has requested our services in those states.
