Paxton Towne Centre - 10/05/2008
A floodplain delineation study was completed which resulted in the securing of the Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) from FEMA and redefined the limits of the "effective" floodplain within the property. Permitting through the Pennsylvania DEP and US Army Corps of Engineers was required for mitigation of jurisdictional wetlands as well as enclosure of approximately 1,600 lineal feet of actively flowing stream through an 84 inch diameter culvert. The design of the storm sewer collection system included more than 150 storm sewer structures (inlets and manholes), some having depths exceeding 30 feet, with pipes reaching a maximum diameter of 66 inches. The detention basin contains over 817,500 cubic feet of storage volume to be utilized in stormwater management.
Roadway improvements included modifications to three township roadways and major modifications to traffic patterns along Jonestown Road (Route 22) for approximately one mile of roadway. Two new traffic signals and substantial modifications to two existing signals were designed in order to maintain high levels of service during peak traffic hours. A private service road was designed and constructed to provide access to a number of residential properties when the road across the front of their properties was relocated to provide satisfactory alignment and sight distances.
